Early life
Demi Moore was born as Demetria Guynes on November 11, 1962 in Roswell, New Mexico. Her parents separated before she was born, and she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Virginia and Danny Guynes, who drank a lot.

Moore had moved more than 30 times when he turned 14, and finally settled in Los Angeles. Moore then explained in the Interview magazine that "When I moved a lot, I learned to assimilate to the new environments I had and to feel very comfortable with people quickly, I think that was one of the most important factors for me to become an actor".

Soap star and first papers
Upon leaving high school at age 16, Moore worked as a debt collector for a while and tried to model. She also developed an interest in acting. In 1981, Moore landed a role in the popular General Hospital of the telenovela. She played journalist Jackie Templeton for two years. That same year, Moore made his feature film debut in the independent drama Elections.

During his stay at the General Hospital, Moore found time for some film projects. After his marriage to musician Freddie Moore in 1981, he appeared with him in the science fiction horror film Parasite (1982). Moore also had a small role in the parody of the telenovela Young Doctors in Love (1982).

'S t. The Fire of Elmo 'Breakout
After leaving his role as a soap opera, Moore struggled to build a career in film. She played Michael Caine's daughter in Blame it on Rio (1984), which attracted little attention from critics or movie goers. Taking a leadership role, Moore played Jon Cryer's love interest in No Small Affair (1984), but she did not capture the public's attention until her performance in St. Elmo's Fire (1985). This film told the story of a group of friends when they face post-university life. The cast also included a number of other rising young stars, including Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy and Emilio Estévez. Many of these artists were becoming equally famous for their off-screen antics and their partying lifestyle, and the media called them the "Bunk Pack."

In his personal life, Moore divorced his first husband in 1984. He began dating Emilio Estévez, and the two became engaged in 1985. The couple starred in the Wisdom of 1986, which Estevez also wrote and directed. That same year, Moore starred with Rob Lowe in About Last Night, a look at young singles in Chicago. Critic Roger Ebert praised both performances and said the film "gives them the best acting opportunities that either of them has had, and they make the most of it." He also highlighted Moore as "especially impressive, there is no romantic note that he is not obliged to play in this film, and he interprets them all perfectly."

The marriage with Bruce Willis and the "ghost" stardom
Once again playing the love interest, Moore co-starred with John Cusack in the popular comedy One Crazy Summer (1986). She was working constantly, but had not yet achieved a great box office success. In 1987, she and Estévez split up, and Moore later met actor Bruce Willis, who was on the popular television show Moonlighting, with Cybill Shepherd. The two started dating and got married in November 1987 in Las Vegas. In 1988 they welcomed their first child, the daughter Rumer, named after the British writer Rumer Godden.

That same year, Moore returned to the big screen with The Seventh Sign, an apocalyptic thriller. She played a pregnant woman trying to stop the end of the world. Despite some positive reviews for his performance, the movie only won about $ 16 million at the box office.
