Born on June 19, 1978 in Passaic, New Jersey, and raised in part in the Dominican Republic, the bilingual Zoe Saldana began her career as an actress in films such as Crossroads, Drumline, The Terminal and Pirates of the Caribbean. After years of diverse work, in 2009 he won leading roles in the box office hits Star Trek, Avatar and Guardians of the Galaxy. She has also been a model for Avon, The Gap and Calvin Klein.

Husband and children
It was reported that Saldana was romantically related to Bradley Cooper after their relationship ended with his long-time boyfriend, actor Keith Britton, with whom he partnered to found the My Fashion Database website. In 2013 Saldana married Marco Perego. In 2014, the couple received the twins Bowie and Cy, and three years later, another son named Zen.

Films
'Center Stage', 'Drumline', 'Pirates of the Caribbean'
After a guest spot at Law & Order, Saldana made her film acting debut with the dance drama Center Stage, which portrayed a group of ballet students training at an academy. Then he got supporting roles during the following years in a variety of films. After appearing in the teen comedy Get Over It!, The Britney Spears Crossroads vehicle and the hip-hop thriller Snipes, Saldana played the captain of a dance team in the 2002 film Drumline. She then appeared in 2003 in Pirates of the Year. Caribbean: The curse of the Black Pearl as Anamaria, a former lover of Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), who gives him a blow for his roguish behavior. In 2004 he appeared in the drama The Terminal with Tom Hanks, as well as in Haven.

'Guess who's coming to dinner'
In the mid-2000s, Saldana continued to perform in several feature films, both commercial and indie, and appeared on television with roles in Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and Six Degrees. In 2005 he starred in Guess Who, a comic update of the Guess Who classic by Sidney Poitier and Spencer Tracy; the newer version changed the racial roles of the original, with Bernie Mac as the cautious African-American father of Saldana and Ashton Kutcher as his promised white fiance. She also appeared later in the 2008 thriller Vantage Point.


'Star Trek' and 'Avatar'
The year 2009 was a successful year for Saldana's career. After the thriller The Skeptic, Saldana starred in the remake of Star Trek by director J.J. Abrams, in which she played Communications Officer Uhura. In December of 2009, she played Neytiri, an alien warrior, in the epic sci-fi Avatar in 3D, which would become the highest grossing movie in the world. Director James Cameron used performance capture technology to create the computer-generated character of Saldana, driven by his body movements and facial expressions in a study environment. Saldana spent months training for the athletic role, practicing horseback riding, archery and wushu martial arts.

The following year, Saldana starred in the remake of the dream comedy Death at a Funeral with Chris Rock and Martin Lawrence, as well as two action capers, The Losers and Takers, and the comedy Burning Palms. In 2011, she obtained the only main role in Colombia, in which Saldana presented herself as an assassin to avenge the murder of her parents.


'Guardians of the Galaxy'
In 2012, Saldana made news off the screen and rushed to help a woman who was injured in a car accident. Later that year, The Words was published, a return to serious drama for the actress about a writer with problems, played by Bradley Cooper, who plagiarized the work of another person. He is also co-director of the episodes of The Rope, a web series developed by Vin Diesel about gorillas and the world of nightlife.

Saldana returned to the Star Trek franchise with the 2013 sequel Into Darkness. And the following year, he added comic book hero to his role-playing list, playing the green-skinned assassin Gamora in the well-received Guardians of the Marvel Galaxy, which broke August's box office records for debut winnings. The project was also co-starred by Diesel and Cooper, among others. In 2017, Saldana returned to his role as Guardians in the sequel, Guardians of Galaxy Vol. 2.

In 2016, Saldana played jazz musician Nina Simone in the biopic
