Selma Blair is an American film and television actress who rose to fame with her roles in the 1999 drama 'Cruel Intentions' and the 2001 comedy 'Legally Blonde'.
Who is Selma Blair?
Selma Blair was born near Detroit, Michigan on June 23, 1972. After graduating from the University of Michigan in 1995 with degrees in English and psychology, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting. His first leading roles were in the 1999 film Cruel Intentions, as well as in the television series The WB Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane (later renamed Zoe ...). Other future projects to highlight include roles in films such as Legally Blonde (2001), The Sweetest Thing (2002) and Hellboy (2004). He also appeared in the FX series Anger Management and The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. Blair was married to Ahmet Zappa from 2004 to 2006 and had a son, Arthur, with his ex-boyfriend Jason Bleick in 2011. He was also open about his battles against alcoholism, depression and anxiety.

'Cruel intentions'
After playing a series of smaller parts and eventually losing the role of Dawson's Creek main character Joey Potter to Katie Holmes and Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Sarah Michelle Gellar, Blair got his role in the 1999 film, Cruel Intentions. Starring opposite Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Phillippe and Gellar, she played the innocent high school student Cecile Caldwell and won an MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss after closing her lips on the screen with Gellar.
'Zoe ...'
The same year, he went on to play Zoe Bean in the teen comedy of The WB, Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane. The series lasted two seasons, and in 2000, it was renamed Zoe ... The paper earned her a Teen Choice Award nomination.
'Legally Blonde'
Blair met with the co-star of Cruel Intentions Witherspoon to play law student Vivian Kensington in the 2001 comedy Legally Blonde. Working with Witherspoon, Blair said: "She has been a friend since Cruel Intentions ... I would act with her any day."
In 2002, she won another Teen Choice Award nomination for the boring romantic comedy The Sweetest Thing, in which she appeared alongside Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate. The following year, she co-starred with Julia Stiles and Jason Lewis in the comedy, A Guy Thing.
'Hellboy'
She also played Liz Sherman, a woman with pyrokinetic powers, in Hellboy directed by Guillermo del Toro in 2004, followed by the sequel to the action / fantasy superhero movie Hellboy II: The Golden Army in 2008.
Focusing on television, she starred opposite Molly Shannon in the sitcom NBC, Kath & Kim, from 2008 until the cancellation of the program the following year, after a season and 17 episodes.
'Anger control'

In October of 2017, Blair, along with her actress Rachel McAdams, spoke about being sexually harassed by director James Toback. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she detailed an account of an incident that took place during a meeting in a hotel room during which, allegedly, Toback held her against her will and ejaculated on her leg.
