Career
After taking a sabbatical from the university in 2005, Stefani decided to try his luck to get a break in the music industry. First he collaborated with American hip-hop artist Melvin Grover on an audiobook project aimed at children.
He even formed a band called "SG Band" the same year, for which he joined some friends like Alex Beckmann and Eli Silvermann, who were also students of the "University of New York".
The band began to make waves in New York, after they began playing in several nightclubs in the city, such as the "Mercury Lounge" and "The Bitter End". The talent of the band was noticed by a musician named Wendy Starland in 2006. This man even introduced Stefani to a music producer named Rob Fusari at about the same time. Rob wanted to form a new band in conjunction with a lead vocalist.
He started traveling between New York and New Jersey quite often thereafter, in an attempt to record new songs he had written for Fusari. Apparently, it is Rob who gave it the name of Gaga, inspired by the famous song "Radio Ga ga".
The singer and the producer even entered the business and started a firm called "Team Lovechild". Together, they produced some unusual musical pieces, mainly of the genre Synthpop.
The songs received praise from the musical fraternity and soon, many opportunities came knocking on Gaga's door. One of them is the offer of the American record label "Def Jam Recordings", which I wanted to experience by releasing an album with the voice of this singer.
