Katharine McPhee is an American actress, singer and songwriter who rose to fame after her stint in the fifth season of "American Idol." Already by then an actor, McPhee was literally pushed to show his singing skills to the world by his parents and then by his fiancé Nick Cokas. With no goal of getting the coveted trophy, McPhee entered the program. However, performance after performance, rose to emerge in the top three. McPhees moved to Sherman Oaks, a Los Angeles neighborhood, when Katharine was 12 years old. There he attended Notre Dame High School. From an early age, Katharine showed a talent for music.
