Katharine McPhee is an American actress, singer and songwriter who rose to fame after her stint in the fifth season of "American Idol." Already by then an actor, McPhee was literally pushed to show his singing skills to the world by his parents and then by his fiancé Nick Cokas. With no goal of getting the coveted trophy, McPhee entered the program. However, performance after performance, rose to emerge in the top three. Childhood and early life
Katharine McPhee was born on March 25, 1984 in Los Angeles, California, by Daniel McPhee and Peisha McPhee. Her father works as a television producer and her mother is one of the vocal coaches of American Idol since 2011. She has an older sister, Adriana.
McPhees moved to Sherman Oaks, a Los Angeles neighborhood, when Katharine was 12 years old. There he attended Notre Dame High School. From an early age, Katharine showed a talent for music. While at school, she participated in school and musical theater plays. To nurture and perfect her musical skills, Peisha began training her daughter from the beginning.
Graduating from high school in 2002, Katharine McPhee attended the Boston Conservatory for three semesters, specializing in musical theater. However, he left college before graduating and returned to Los Angeles to try his luck on television.
