Early life
Gwyneth Kate Paltrow was born on September 27, 1972 in Los Angeles, California. Daughter of Tony Award-winning actress Blythe Danner and television producer Bruce Paltrow, Paltrow did not grow up in the Hollywood world. After living in Los Angeles, Paltrow moved with his family to New York at the age of 11. The young blonde precocious debuted on stage with only 5 years in a theater in the mountains of Berkshire in Massachusetts, where his mother performed in the summer.

As she grew up, Paltrow's emerging beauty and the development of talent for acting began to win her small film roles, starting with Shout and Hook in 1991. After a well-received place in front of her mother in the television miniseries Cruel Doubt (1992), Paltrow decided to abandon his studies in art history at the University of California at Santa Barbara to devote himself to acting full-time.

Early career
The decision paid off: Paltrow won a series of roles in films such as Malice (1993), co-starring Nicole Kidman and Alec Baldwin, Flesh and Bone (1993) and Jefferson in Paris (1995), co-starring Nick Nolte. In 1995, Paltrow appeared in the controversial film Se7en, with Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt.

A romance with the latter helped push Paltrow to the headlines, just as he began to win leading roles in The Pallbearer (1996), Emma (1996), Great Expectations (1998), Sliding Doors (1998) and A Perfect Murder (1998). ). , with Michael Douglas. Paltrow confirmed his superstar status with a performance inspired by Shakespeare in Love, 1998, as the supposed muse of the immortal Bard. The paper won her an Oscar for Best Actress and made her one of the most sought-after artists in Hollywood.

The slender blonde also made a name for herself in the gossip columns with well-publicized relationships and breaks with Pitt and Ben Affleck, the Oscar-winning co-writer of Good Will Hunting (1997). Affleck also appeared (in a relatively small role) in Shakespeare in Love. He and Paltrow parted company in early 1998 after a year-long romance.

Average career
In 1999, Paltrow starred with Matt Damon in the exuberant production of director Anthony Minghella of The Talented Mr. Ripley, a novel by Patricia Highsmith. In 2000, he starred in the karaoke drama comedy Duets, directed by his father, Bruce Paltrow, and the romance Bounce, along with Affleck.

At the end of 2001, Paltrow put on an unflatteringly thick suit for some of his scenes in the crude comedy Shallow Hal, co-starring Jack Black and directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly. He also joined a stellar cast, including Gene Hackman, Anjelica Huston, Ben Stiller, Bill Murray, Danny Glover and Luke and Owen Wilson, in The Royal Tenenbaums, directed by Wes Anderson. In 2002, he starred in the film adaptation of Possession, as well as the romantic parody of Miramax, A View From the Top.

Later roles
After his victory at the 1998 Academy Award, Paltrow participated in several less than memorable roles.
