Emma Watson was born on April 15, 1990 in Paris, France, but grew up in England. The actress obtained her great role as a child in the successful Harry Potter film franchise. Watson grew up in the camera while repeating her role as one of Harry Potter's best friends, Hermione Granger, throughout the entire film series. After committing to the Harry Potter series for a decade, Watson has become an actress and popular adult model, having appeared in popular movies The Advantages of being a Flower of Flowers, My Week with Marilyn and The Beauty and the beast.

Early life
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born on April 15, 1990 in Paris. His parents, both British lawyers, are Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson. His brother, Alex, was born three years later. His parents divorced when Watson was 5 years old and moved to Oxfordshire in England with his mother and brother.

Watson attended Stagecoach theater arts school in Oxford. He studied singing, acting and dancing, and acted in school plays. His natural instinct to act arose for the first time when he won a poetry contest to recite "The Sea" by James Reeves at age 7. Watson had never acted professionally when his theater teachers suggested agents looking to screen an upcoming film based on the first novel in Harry Potter's best-selling series.


Watson, 9, auditioned eight times for the role that would make her an international star. Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, who was deeply involved in the film process to make sure she stayed true to the book, wanted Watson for the role of Hermione in her first screen test.

Watson impressed the cast and crew of the film enough, and won the role of Hermione Granger, the intelligent and bossy best friend of Harry Potter and the voice of reason.
