Daniel Radcliffe is an English actor who reached international stardom as Harry Potter in the series of films based on the enormously popular books of J.K. Rowling.
Synopsis
Daniel Radcliffe's parents initially refused to allow him to audition for the role, but a chance meeting with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone director, Chris Columbus, led to an audition. Those involved in the film agreed that Radcliffe would be the perfect Harry, and the legions of book fans seemed to agree. He repeated his role in each of the sequels of the first film. He continued playing on Broadway in works such as How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying It (2011). Radcliffe also starred in the 2013 film Kill Your Darlings.

Early life
Daniel Radcliffe, the only son of a literary agent and a casting director, has achieved international stardom for his work in the Harry Potter films, adaptations of the beloved best sellers of J. K. Rowling. With the end of the series in 2011, the young actor now works to establish himself as something more than a magician with glasses in training.

Radcliffe made his acting debut in the 1999 television movie David Copperfield, playing the younger version of the title character. He soon landed a big-screen role in the spy thriller The Tailor of Panama, with Pierce Brosnan and Jamie Lee Curtis. But even before the release of this film, Radcliffe made headlines when he was chosen as the protagonist of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. The 11-year-old actor joined other unknown artists, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as Harry's friends, Ron and Hermione, in one of the most anticipated films of 2001.

Harry Potter fame
Launched in November 2001, Harry Potter and Sorcerer's Stone proved to be a blockbuster. Audiences worshiped Radcliffe as the main character, an orphan boy who attends a special school for magicians in training. And the fever that surrounded the series just seemed to grow with each new movie.

The eight-film series spanned more than a decade of Radcliffe's life. These movies really show him growing up from young man to young man. And they gave him the opportunity to work with many distinguished actors, including Gary Oldman, Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson and Helena Bonham Carter. Radcliffe believes that Oldman and Rickman's careers are particularly inspiring, and tells Back Stage that "they never, ever stop trying to improve and work with people who think they will bring something new."

While some wonder if he lost a part of his youth to the fame and success of Harry Potter, Radcliffe does not seem to be sorry for the project that almost consumes everything. "They've been great, for the most part I've been happy every day, and every time I've been unhappy, it's never had anything to do with Potter," he told Details magazine. In subsequent interviews, Radcliffe admitted that he had a problem with drinking during his adolescence and occasionally went to shoot scenes while Harry Potter was still drunk from the night before. He has been sober since 2010.

In 2011, the Harry Potter series ended with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. The record of that era. The movie grossed approximately $ 168 million in its first weekend. But with this last film some sad farewells came. Radcliffe had to leave his most famous character at rest and told Time Out New York what he would most miss if he were not Harry Potter. "It's very rare in your career that you play as an action hero, I'm not the frame and the natural stature of an action hero, so I can not play one again." He also regretted that the film series has not received more critical recognition, especially in terms of Academy Award nominations.

Other projects
In his work outside the Harry Potter films, Radcliffe has endeavored to break his best-known role. He mocked himself and his image in Ricky Gervais' Extras comedy series at a special place in 2006. The following year, Radcliffe showed his dramatic acting performances and more than just a little skin on the Broadway stage at Equus, playing a disturbed teenager. In 2011, he took on a very different part, an ambitious young man, in the musical comedy How to succeed in business without really trying.

Radcliffe, in her first role in a mature film after Harry Potter, starred in the gothic horror thriller The Woman in Black. He played with a widowed lawyer and a father who mixed with some disturbing supernatural problems. Radcliffe, which ventured at a lighter rate, also presented the popular comedy show Saturday Night Live that same
